Grace Cummings

Grace Cummings, an Australian singer born in Melbourne, presents Bloodhorse!, the fourth album, in a London concert at Village Underground. The evening centres on the new record and the singer's earlier work.

Grace Cummings is an Australian singer born in Melbourne, who began by playing drums before turning to singing. The debut album, Refuge Cove, came out in 2019. Bloodhorse! is the fourth album, released on ATO Records and recorded in Topanga Canyon with the producer Jonathan Wilson, whose production credits include Father John Misty, Angel Olsen and Margo Price.

According to the source, the new record moves from the campfire intimacy of the earlier work towards synthesisers, tense strings and slow, hazy grooves. Its lyrics return to life, death, agency and self-examination, shifting between tender and confrontational passages. The source presents the album as a darker counterpart to the preceding record.

Before this London date, Cummings toured Europe in support of Father John Misty and gave a headline show at The George Tavern. For the London concert, the album is to be performed with a full band. Village Underground, the venue, hosts concerts and shows in London.
