Kelsey Lu

Kelsey Lu is an American singer and cellist, born in 1989 in Charlotte. The act has been active since 2016, and the debut album Blood was released in 2019. Kelsey Lu combines singing with the cello, which places the instrument at the centre of the music rather than in the background. The genre listed for this concert is pop, rock and indie, a frame that suits a solo performer working between voice and strings.

On stage, the performance is built around Kelsey Lu's voice and cello. The usual line-up and the exact repertoire for this London date are not known to me, so the content of the set is not described here. Listeners who already know the album Blood will recognise the artist's vocal and instrumental approach, while newcomers can use the record as an introduction before the concert.

KOKO is a London venue that hosts concerts and shows. The evening suits listeners interested in singer-songwriters who bring classical instrumentation into contemporary pop and indie music.
