Mykki Blanco

Mykki Blanco, an American rapper, poet and performance artist, appears live at MOTH Club in London. The concert brings together rap and spoken word in a single act.

Mykki Blanco is an American rapper, poet and performance artist, born in 1986 in Orange County, California. Known as an advocate for LGBT rights, the artist has built a practice at the crossroads of rap and poetry, where lyrics and spoken word share the same space. The performance art dimension of the work places the stage presence and staging alongside the songs and texts.

The context for this date gives no details on the line-up accompanying the artist, the repertoire performed on the night, or whether a support act is programmed. The concert is part of the London listings for the MOTH Club, a venue that hosts concerts and shows in the city.

This evening suits listeners interested in contemporary rap and poetry, and in performance work that combines the two. The format is a live concert by a single artist, with the words and the delivery at the centre of the act.
