Parallel | House, Speed Garage & 140

A club-oriented electronic night at Bar A Bar London in Stoke Newington, north London, bringing together house, speed garage and 140 under the billing Parallel.

The night brings together three strands of dance music: house, speed garage and 140, a UK style named after tempos near 140 beats per minute. Speed garage grew out of the UK garage scene of the late 1990s, combining swung rhythms with deep bass. Parallel is the act billed on the night, with house as the focus of the programme.

Bar A Bar London is a concert and performance venue on Stoke Newington Road, in the Stoke Newington area of north London. Its billing as a concert and performance space places the evening in a venue set up for live music rather than a conventional concert hall.

The evening suits listeners who follow club-oriented electronic dance music and want to hear house, speed garage and 140 presented side by side in a single bill. It is a practical choice for anyone interested in how these styles connect, since they share roots in the same London dance scene.
