Pink Martini

Pink Martini, the Portland-based band, plays at the Royal Albert Hall in London. The group blends classical music, jazz and Latin American styles in its concerts and recordings.

Pink Martini is an American band formed in 1994 in Portland, Oregon, whose music combines classical, jazz and Latin American influences. The group was signed to Audiogram, and its first album, Sympathique, was released in 1997. Its sound draws on a mix of genres rather than a single style, which places it between pop, lounge-influenced jazz and the Latin American repertoire.

The band is presented here under the Pop, rock and indie category, although its own catalogue crosses several traditions. The London date is a concert at the Royal Albert Hall, a large hall in South Kensington that hosts concerts and shows throughout the year. The evening suits listeners who already know the band's records or who are curious about its blend of genres, and who want to hear its material performed live in a major London venue.
