Portrayal Of Guilt / Spike Hellis

A concert at Manchester Club Academy with American hardcore punk and screamo band Portrayal of Guilt, with electronic artist Spike Hellis on the same bill.

Portrayal of Guilt is an American hardcore punk and screamo band from Austin, Texas, formed by guitarist and vocalist Matt King, bassist Blake Given and drummer James Beveridge. Since starting less than a decade ago, the group has reworked its sound with each release rather than repeating a single approach.

The band's album...Beginning of the End blends groove with avant-garde writing. It returns to the raw, abrasive intensity of earlier work while drawing on nu-metal, alternative rock, trip hop and dark ambient, which makes it a broad survey of heavy music. Spike Hellis is an artist on the electronic music scene, and the bill pairs that electronic side with the band's heavier material.

Manchester Club Academy hosts concerts and shows in the city. The evening suits listeners interested in heavy music that moves between hardcore, experimental and electronic textures.
