Overview
Q Marsden is an American singer, songwriter and record producer from Broward County, Florida, active since 2018. Born to musician parents, Marsden taught themselves piano, guitar, bass, drums and keys, and learnt the craft of production over the years. Both the singing and the production work are central to the music.
The debut album Soul,PRESENT appeared in 2023, following the earlier EP The Shave Experiment, released in 2020. NPR described the album as soulful songs steeped in analogue nostalgia and 1980s pop production. Songs such as Take Me Where Your Heart Is, Garage Rooftop, TODAY and Be With Ya have drawn a large streaming audience. A critic at PAPER compared the talent to soul-pop acts such as Stevie Wonder and Prince.
