Rita Payés & Lucía Fumero

A concert by Spanish jazz musician Rita Payés with Lucía Fumero at Cadogan Hall in London, a duo project built on a shared friendship between piano and trombone.

Rita Payés is a Spanish jazz musician born in Vilassar de Mar in 1999. Her debut album, “Joan Chamorro presenta Rita Payés”, was released in 2015. For this concert, Payés appears alongside Lucía Fumero in a duo whose sound is shaped by their long friendship, with a piano line answered by a trombone and two voices in close musical dialogue.

The project draws on jazz, roots music and Latin American influences. Its material describes it as a deliberately intimate and unadorned undertaking, built on what the two performers share musically rather than on added arrangement.

Cadogan Hall is a concert venue in London that hosts concerts and shows throughout the year. The evening suits listeners interested in small-group jazz and roots-influenced duo playing.
