Ryan Leslie is an American producer, singer and entrepreneur, born in 1978 in Washington. Active since 1997 in contemporary R&B, the artist released a first album, Just Right, on Motown in 2005. The programme draws on the genres listed for the evening: R&B, soul, funk, gospel and reggae, which reflects the breadth of a career built on both writing and producing as well as performing.

The O2 Academy Islington is a London venue that hosts concerts and shows throughout the year. The evening suits listeners who follow contemporary R&B and want to hear a producer-singer perform live, and those interested in the wider soul and funk traditions behind the genre.

The details of the set, the line-up accompanying the artist and the repertoire played on the night are not known in advance, so the concert should be approached as a live performance by a singer and producer whose catalogue spans several styles.
