Shakka

Shakka at Village Underground

A quietly unassuming presence who has spent over a decade striving to innovate the sound of British R&B, Shakka is the kind of artist other artists call. Two MOBO Awards for Best R&B/Soul Act. A Grammy, earned co-writing "Cool" for Dua Lipa's Future Nostalgia. Platinum credits alongside Ella Eyre, Sean Paul, Anitta, and Young Thug. A debut album — Road Trip to Venus — that arrived not as an introduction, but as a statement of arrival.

His voice has graced records with JME, AlunaGeorge, Sigma, Basement Jaxx, and Ghetts. His pen has travelled further still — across genres, time zones, and nowcontinents. Since signing exclusively to Phrased Differently / Budde Music, Shakka has become one of the most active British songwriters in K-pop, accumulating 16 released cuts with some of the genre's most prominent acts — among them Baekhyun, TWS, Close Your Eyes, Cha Eun Woo, ONEW, ZEROBASEONE, and TXT.

Rooted in the soil of The Fugees and pioneers of dub reggae, sharpened by the broad innovation of Basement Jaxx, Ty Dolla $ign, and PartyNextDoor, Shakka is now entering the most expansive chapter of his career — one that belongs entirely to him.
