Overview
Skank is a Brazilian band from Belo Horizonte, Minas Gerais, whose music draws on ska and reggae rhythms within pop rock songwriting. This concert brings the group to a London stage at Secret Location.
Skank formed in Belo Horizonte, in the Brazilian state of Minas Gerais, and has built its sound on ska and reggae rhythms combined with pop rock songwriting. Samuel Rosa, who sings and plays guitar, is one of the founding members and remains closely associated with the band.
Their best-known work includes the album Calango, released in 1994, and the song Garota Nacional, which has become one of their most recognised pieces in Brazil. The band's catalogue shows the blend of upbeat rhythms and melodic, sung verses that has defined their sound across several decades.
Secret Location is a London venue that hosts concerts and shows. The night suits listeners who enjoy Brazilian pop rock and the reggae and ska influences that run through the group's recordings.
