Slift

Slift, a French psychedelic rock group from Toulouse, plays Islington Assembly Hall in London, with Hey Colossus on the bill. The concert brings together a French band and a support act in a venue that hosts concerts and shows.

Slift is a French psychedelic rock group from Toulouse, which released its first album, La Planète inexplorée, in 2018. The trio's fourth album, Fantasia, is described by its source as their leanest and most direct record, a saga about overcoming international upheaval. Its songs were written largely by Jean Fossat and draw on the fiction of Jorge Luis Borges, whose title Orbis Tertius the band borrowed for one track. The record portrays an imagined town marked by xenophobia, with its hopeful second half centred on resisting that uniformity.

The night also features Hey Colossus in support. Islington Assembly Hall, the London venue hosting the concert, presents concerts and shows, and runs a Support the Supports campaign for its opening acts, so arriving early means taking part in a prize draw for those who reach the building in time.

The event suits listeners interested in psychedelic and indie rock who want to hear a French trio alongside a support act on this visit to London.
