The material describes Sunday Mourners as blending post-punk with indie rock, in a sound that mixes minimalist and melodic writing with high-energy playing. The band is compared, in general terms, to bands such as Television. It is a short description, so no further details about the group's history, members or records can be given with certainty here.

The band has recently performed a run of London shows, including at the Shacklewell Arms and The Victoria, where it appeared alongside Plastic Factory, and at several showcases in the Great Escape and Alt Escape festivals. The listing notes that their instruments are played with a wry, physical approach, described in the band's own words as capable of skewering an olive as easily as pulverising a ham hock.

The Blue Basement hosts concerts and shows in London. The evening is aimed at listeners interested in post-punk and indie rock performed live in a small London venue.
