Tate Modern

A guided discovery tour of the Tate Modern permanent collection, led by a Tate expert, focusing on the gallery's best-known works and the stories behind them.

This is a guided visit to the main collections of Tate Modern, the London gallery of modern and contemporary art housed in the former Bankside Power Station. The tour is led by a Tate expert and lasts one hour, taking in the gallery's principal displays and the works most often associated with its collection.

Participants are shown well-known artworks and given background on the artists and the pieces themselves, with the aim of changing how the works are looked at. The route moves through the main collections rather than a single temporary display, so it suits visitors who want an overview of the gallery rather than one specific exhibition.

The tour will appeal to first-time visitors to Tate Modern, to those who already know the building and want a structured introduction, and to anyone interested in modern art who prefers a guided route through the rooms.
