Overview
The Allergies, a band working across R&B, soul, funk, gospel and reggae, performing at Amber's, a concert and performance venue in Manchester.
The Allergies make music across R&B, soul, funk, gospel and reggae, a combination that places sung melody and harmony alongside funk rhythms and the offbeat pulse of reggae. Across these styles, the sound pairs rhythmic groove with vocal harmony, drawing on the call-and-response of gospel and the bass-led lines of funk and reggae.
Amber's is a concert and performance venue at Symphony Park in Manchester, so the night suits listeners who follow soul, funk and reggae-inflected R&B and want to hear a band working across several genres in one set. Concerts here sit alongside theatre and performance programming, which gives the venue a broader cultural remit than a music-only club.
