The Tallest Man on Earth

A concert by The Tallest Man on Earth, the project of Swedish singer-songwriter behind the album Just Beyond Endless Mountain, presented at EartH in Hackney, London, as part of the tour bearing the album's name.

The Tallest Man on Earth is the solo project of a Swedish singer-songwriter who has been recording under this name since 2005, releasing music on the ANTI- label. Outside the project, the same singer is also the vocalist of the band Montezumas. The name has become associated with contemporary folk songwriting built around a voice and guitar.

The new album Just Beyond Endless Mountain, released on ANTI- Records, follows a return to Dalarna in central Sweden. There the songwriter revisited polskas, old field recordings and local traditions heard since childhood. The material is presented as a step into new territory rather than a return to the past, with Swedish folk music shaping the melodies, the vocal approach and the way the songs are written. The single Deliver Me from Trying combines driving guitar and propulsive drumming with distorted vocals.

The concert forms part of the tour for this album. EartH, the Hackney venue hosting the show, is a social enterprise that supports new musicians, and it provides music studios in the building free of charge for young artists.
