Unplugged.

Unplugged is a family show staged at The BRIT Theatre presented by British Airways in Croydon, performed by BRIT Kids. It imagines a near future in which children live entirely through screens until a sudden power failure leaves them in the real world.

The show is set in the year 2126, in a town where school, games, friendships and even birthday parties take place through screens and virtual reality. Children rarely leave their bedrooms and have no need to speak to anyone face to face. One ordinary morning, a mysterious glitch shuts down electricity and the internet across the whole town, and the characters are left with no VR, no screens and no Wi-Fi.

The story follows a curious group of children who, cut off from their devices, discover fresh air, games that need no app and the pleasure of connecting with someone in person. Their discoveries suggest that fun did not always depend on a power button.

The production is performed by BRIT Kids and is presented at The BRIT Theatre, a venue in Croydon that hosts concerts and shows. It is aimed at a family audience, with a theme about technology and face-to-face contact that will appeal to younger spectators.
