VINYL PLAYBACK: A TRIBE CALLED QUEST – MIDNIGHT MARAUDERS

Join us at 26 Curtain Road for another Vinyl Playback session, where we put one classic album on the turntable and play it from start to finish in our intimate Shoreditch listening bar.

This week we turn the spotlight on A Tribe Called Quest’s landmark 1993 album Midnight Marauders.

Widely regarded as one of the defining records of the golden age of hip-hop, Midnight Marauders is packed with inventive production, jazz-infused samples, laid-back grooves and the unmistakable chemistry of Q-Tip, Phife Dawg and Ali Shaheed Muhammad.

From “Award Tour” and “Electric Relaxation” to “Scenario” and “Oh My God,” the album is a masterclass in rhythm, sampling and understated cool.

For this Vinyl Playback session, there are no skips, no playlists and no distractions — just Midnight Marauders played in full, from the opening track to the final groove, allowing the album to be heard exactly as intended.

26 Curtain Road provides the perfect setting: a relaxed, atmospheric space with a quality hi-fi system, great drinks and a room built for listening.
