Anvil

Anvil, the Canadian heavy metal band formed in Toronto in 1978, play this London show with Killer and Rok Ali and the Addiction as part of a European tour focused on their early records.

Anvil were formed in Toronto in 1978, and their first album, Hard 'n'Heavy, was released in 1981 on the Attic label. For this tour, the band are performing songs drawn only from their first three albums, and the programme is built around that catalogue rather than newer material.

The event is billed as part of the Pounding the Past tour, which Anvil describe as a chance to revisit their earlier work while they are between studio albums. The band are touring alongside the Belgian group Killer, and the bill also includes Rok Ali and the Addiction. The source material presents the night as a metal show rather than a tribute.

The Underworld, in Camden, is a London venue that hosts concerts and shows, and this event is also linked to a club night at its Camden Rocks space. The night will appeal to listeners who follow classic heavy metal and the band's early output.
