Autechre

Autechre are an English electronic music duo made up of Rob Brown and Sean Booth, both from Rochdale, Greater Manchester. Formed in 1987, Autechre are among the leading artists on the British label Warp Records, on which all their albums have been released, starting with Incunabula in 1993. The duo first drew attention with their appearance on Artificial Intelligence, a 1992 compilation released by Warp.

Influenced by styles such as electro, hip-hop, acid house and musique concrète, Autechre's music has evolved over time: characterised early on by melodic techno, it later came to be widely regarded as abstract and experimental, with production generated by complex algorithms and few stylistic conventions. Autechre's work is most often associated with the electronic music genre known as intelligent dance music (IDM).
