About — The artist
Beast in Black is a Finnish heavy metal band formed in Helsinki in 2015 by guitarist and songwriter Anton Kabanen. The band is made up of Anton Kabanen (guitar, founding member, principal songwriter), Máté Molnar (bass), Yannis Papadopoulos (vocals), and Atte Palokangas (drums). Original drummer Sami Hänninen left the band in 2017, and guitarist Kasperi Heikkinen departed in 2025.
Their debut studio album, Berserker, released in November 2017, was certified Platinum by IFPI. The album From Hell with Love (2019) also received a Platinum certification. Their third studio album, Dark Connection, released on October 29, 2021, was certified Gold. The band has taken part in international festivals such as Graspop in 2019 and 2023, Hellfest in 2023, and Wacken Open Air in 2024.
To date, the band has released three studio albums, 13 singles, and one video game. The band's mascot, the “Beast,” regularly appears on album covers and in concert production elements.
