About — The artist

William Roland Sheehan (born March 19, 1953, in Buffalo, New York) is an American bassist known for his work with Talas, Steve Vai, David Lee Roth, Mr. Big, Niacin, and The Winery Dogs.

Sheehan has been voted 'Best Rock Bassist' five times by the readers of Guitar Player Magazine for his 'solo bassist' playing style. The magazine compared his playing to that of Eddie Van Halen on guitar. Although an undisputed master of two-handed tapping, among other techniques, he is also recognised as a truly good rock bassist, perfectly fulfilling the traditional supportive role within a band.

He has been a member of Scientology for 35 years.
