About — The artist
Fionn Regan (born 1981) is an Irish folk musician and singer-songwriter. Born and raised in Bray, he came to prominence with the release of his debut studio album, The End of History, in 2006. For six years before that album came out, he had released EPs on independent labels.
His second studio album, The Shadow of an Empire, appeared in 2010 and received positive reviews; his third, 100 Acres of Sycamore, followed in 2011, and his fourth, The Bunkhouse Vol. 1: Anchor Black Tattoo, in 2012.
Among his accolades, Regan was nominated for the Choice Music Prize in Ireland, the Mercury Prize in the United Kingdom and the Shortlist Music Prize in the United States. He cites Bob Dylan and Neil Young as influences, and Lucinda Williams has described him as 'his generation's answer to Bob Dylan'.
