About — The artist
Kevin Atwater is an American singer-songwriter. He is known for his indie and dream pop music, centred on LGBTQ themes. Born in Downers Grove, Illinois, and later based in New York, Atwater first gained popularity by posting comedy sketches and fan edits on TikTok, reaching around one million followers.
He releases his music on a second account, and his breakthrough came when his single "star tripping" went viral on the platform in 2022. His lyrics often draw on events from his own life, in a confessional style, with frequently melancholic narratives that "turn niche life experiences into relatable ordeals".
