About — The artist
King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard (stylised as King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard) is an Australian musical group originating from Melbourne. The band consists of Stu Mackenzie, Ambrose Kenny-Smith, Cook Craig, Joey Walker, Lucas Harwood and Michael Cavanagh. A second drummer, Eric Moore, also managed and played within the line-up until 2020.
The group is renowned for their energetic stage performances and prolific, eclectic musical output, having released 27 albums since 2012, sometimes at a rate of five per year, as in 2017 and 2022. Having started out with sounds blending surf music, psychedelic rock, microtonal music, heavy metal and garage rock, their more recent productions blend even more influences: progressive rock, folk, jazz, soul, industrial metal.
