Spray

Spray are a synth-pop duo from Preston, Lancashire, England, made up of siblings Jenny McLaren and Ricardo Autobahn. After the end of their previous band, the Cuban Boys (known for their single Hampster Dance and their John Peel sessions), McLaren and Autobahn released the album Living In Neon on the Ninthwave Records label in the United States. The extended single “I Am Gothic” followed in 2003. A new album, Children of a Laser God, was released online in 2006, featuring the single “Run With Us,” a cover of the theme tune from the 1980s animated series The Raccoons.

After a hiatus, the duo returned in 2010 with the single “Everything's Better With Muppets,” accompanied by a popular YouTube video combining lip-synced clips from The Muppet Show.

Spray released Enforced Fun in 2016 on the Banoffeesound label, featuring narration by actress and singer Jane Badler and collaborations with other artists. Their fourth album, Failure Is Inevitable, came out in May 2019 on Analogue Trash, followed by Ambiguous Poems About Death in 2021 and the covers album Songs Already Sung in 2023.
