About — The artist
Tears for Fears, sometimes abbreviated to TFF and more rarely to T4F, is a British pop rock band from Bath, England. Formed by Roland Orzabal and Curt Smith in 1981, the band, initially affiliated with the new wave movement, has sold over thirty million albums worldwide (including nearly ten million in the United States alone and over one and a half million in France). Their three studio albums released in the 1980s alone account for over twenty million copies sold.
The heyday for Tears for Fears spanned ten years, from 1983 to 1993, after which the band experienced a decline in sales. During their career, the group had several global hits, the most iconic of which undoubtedly remain Shout, Everybody Wants to Rule the World, and Sowing the Seeds of Love, not to mention their first success, Mad World.
