Lucia Guarino / CONTENGO MOLTITUDINI - Danae Festival

Spettacolo di Lucia Guarino, « CONTENGO MOLTITUDINI », proposto nell'ambito del Danae Festival allo Spazio Fattoria di Milano, sala che ospita concerti e spettacoli dal vivo.

Lucia Guarino, dancer and author, works between Italy, Belgium, Spain and Argentina. As a performer, she works, among others, with Romeo Castellucci, Lisbeth Gruwez, Simona Bertozzi and Virgilio Sieni.

Present at Danae last year with an investigation into the figure of Pinocchio, Guarino now throws herself into, and plunges beneath, a second archetypal and liminal figure: that of Pulcinella. Faced with the tragic reality of this world, "the show is over".

What remains are bodies as witnesses to the nakedness of the real, and action, and the urgency of making something happen.

In this "end", the only thing possible is to be radically present and to bear witness to one's own right to be and to exist, dismantling formal aspects to bring out the "person" and make room for diversity, critical spirit and human occurrence: the movement of our multitude.

Pulcinella is the being who exposes himself to the outside, the outsider who highlights the absurdities of life and shows us what a body can do when words become impossible.

He is a symbol of the man who occupies the edge of the scene-life, who manifests and resists for art and with art. In a constant crossing "to and fro" of this figure, dance becomes concrete action and living gesture; it abandons virtuosity.

The body lets itself be traversed by its multiform nature, moving around an unveiled mask that emerges among the many and for the many, declaring the urgency of being there.
