MUSIC FOR THE MASSES [DARK 80's NEW WAVE NITE] S.F

A dark 1980s new wave night at Cat Club in San Francisco, listed as an electronic music event under the title Music for the Masses. It is built around the synthesizer-driven sound of that decade.

Music for the Masses is an electronic night devoted to dark 1980s new wave, a style built on synthesizers, sparse drum machine patterns and brooding vocals that grew out of British post-punk in the late 1970s. The evening centers on that sound and its era, which later fed into darkwave and goth music.

The night suits listeners who follow 1980s new wave, darkwave and synth-pop and want to hear that music performed live in a San Francisco venue. Dark new wave of this period often combined guitars with synthesizers and drum machines, and its influence can be heard in the synth-based styles that followed.

Cat Club hosts concerts and shows in San Francisco, and this night takes place there as a dedicated dark new wave program.
