Overview
A concert by Rush, the Canadian hard rock band from Toronto, presented at Capital One Arena in Washington under the title RUSH: Fifty Something.
Rush was formed in Toronto in 1968 around bassist and singer Geddy Lee, guitarist Alex Lifeson and drummer Neil Peart, who wrote the band's lyrics until his death in 2020. The trio built its sound on heavy guitar riffs and extended compositions influenced by progressive rock. Among its best-known songs are "Tom Sawyer" from the 1981 album Moving Pictures, "Limelight," "The Spirit of Radio," and the concept suite "2112" from 1976.
This evening carries the title RUSH: Fifty Something, which places the performance within the band's long career. The show takes place at Capital One Arena, a venue in Washington that hosts concerts and shows.
The program suits listeners who follow the group's catalog of studio albums, from the 1970s onward, and anyone interested in the band's role in Canadian hard rock.
