Overview
An outdoor game in Washington, D.C., where players solve puzzles and follow clues as the city is turned into the Land of Oz, with a storyline inspired by L. Frank Baum's 1900 novel.
The Oz Experience is an outdoor game in which players travel around Washington, D.C., solving puzzles and following clues while the city takes on the setting of the Land of Oz. The storyline is inspired by L. Frank Baum's 1900 Oz novel, and the aim is to outwit the witch before time runs out.
Some clues are musical, and the game includes original songs written for it in the spirit of the Oz stories. Players can join a team or go alone, check the leaderboard, earn special rewards, and enter a costume contest. Notable locations around the city form part of the route.
Participants need a smartphone with an internet connection. Because the activity takes place outdoors, players should not enter private buildings or premises. It suits groups of friends and visitors who want to explore the city in a themed way, and it begins at 801 F Street NW.
