The Psychedelic Furs with Special Guests Living Colour

A concert by The Psychedelic Furs, the English band formed in London in 1977, with special guests Living Colour, the New York band formed in 1984. Both acts play hard rock and metal in this billing at Hard Rock Live Orlando.

The Psychedelic Furs formed in London in 1977 and have been fronted by vocalist Richard Butler since the start, with his brother Tim Butler on bass. Their 1981 album Talk Talk Talk marked a key stage in their catalog, and their song "Pretty in Pink" lent its title to the 1986 teen film of the same name. The band's sound grew out of the post-punk era, and its records have stayed central to its identity over more than four decades.

Living Colour was formed in New York in 1984. Its debut album, Vivid, came out in 1988 and included the single "Cult of Personality." The band's blend of hard rock and metal gives this bill a clear contrast with the Furs'earlier, more atmospheric material, and the pairing lets listeners hear two distinct strands of the rock tradition on one night.

Hard Rock Live Orlando is a venue for concerts and shows in Orlando. The evening will suit listeners who follow 1980s alternative rock and who want to compare the post-punk lineage of the Furs with the heavier sound of Living Colour.
