Torrance Murder Mystery: Solve the case!

A self-guided outdoor murder mystery in Torrance, played on a smartphone, in which players follow clues to city landmarks, question suspects and try to identify the killer.

This outing is a detective game played on foot around Torrance. Groups of any size receive the case through their phone and move between 12 landmarks, where they uncover clues and solve puzzles. The story begins when a travel blogger is found dead during a ghost tour, and the players must work out who is responsible before time runs out.

Participants interrogate suspects in a role-playing format and piece together a theatrical crime scene. The only equipment needed is a phone with an internet connection. The route covers an area with a radius of about 2 miles around the stops, and the game is offered in English, French, German and Spanish.

The game is recommended for ages 14 and up, and younger players must be accompanied by an adult. It suits groups of friends and families with teenagers who enjoy puzzles and role-play. Torrance Centennial Plaza is the venue named for this outing, a venue in Torrance that hosts concerts and shows.
