AL From Hell Fest w/ Dylan Carlson of Earth

A San Francisco concert within AL From Hell Fest, featuring Dylan Carlson, the guitarist and founder of the American drone and doom project Earth. The evening is in the electronic genre and takes place at Kilowatt.

Dylan Carlson is the founder of Earth, the American drone and doom metal project built around long, slow-moving guitar textures and heavy, repetitive riffs. Earth's early albums, including Earth 2 (1993) and Hex; or Printing in the Infernal Method (1993), are the usual starting points for the band's sound, which stretches single chords and tones over extended durations.

On this bill, Dylan Carlson performs as part of AL From Hell Fest, an event that places the artist's work in an electronic context. The program is suited to listeners who follow drone-based music and want to hear a guitarist's approach to repetition, sustain and texture in a live setting.

Kilowatt is a San Francisco venue that hosts concerts and shows, and it serves as the location for this evening. Visitors interested in the drone and doom lineage of Earth, or in electronic-leaning performances by guitarists with a long history in heavy experimental music, will find the connection between the two worlds clear in this booking.
