Overview
A double bill in New York City pairing the Mexican rock band EL Tri, led by singer and songwriter Álex Lora, with El Gran Silencio, at the Palladium Times Square.
EL Tri is a Mexican rock band founded in Mexico City in 1983 and led by singer and songwriter Álex Lora. The group has been active since 1968, and its debut album, "Simplemente", came out in 1985. Lora is the name most closely tied to the band's identity, so the project is best understood through his songwriting and his long career in Mexican rock.
El Gran Silencio is the other act on the bill, and this concert brings the two groups together on one program at the Palladium Times Square. The show is set in a theater venue in the heart of Manhattan, which hosts concerts and shows throughout the year.
The evening suits listeners who follow Mexican rock and who want to hear two bands from the same scene on one night. It is also a fit for audiences interested in Spanish-language rock and in the lineage of a band that has been performing for decades.
