Alison Stiel

A live concert by Alison Stiel, an artist whose music falls within the blues, country and folk traditions, presented at Sleepwalk in Brooklyn.

Alison Stiel's music belongs to three closely related roots traditions: blues, country and folk. These styles share sung storytelling, acoustic or lightly amplified accompaniment, and a direct approach to lyrics about everyday experience. Each one has its own history, but they have long overlapped in American songwriting, which is why they are often heard together.

Sleepwalk is a venue in Brooklyn that hosts concerts and shows, so the evening is a live music event in the borough rather than a recording or a broadcast. It suits listeners who follow singer-songwriters working in these styles and want to hear the music performed in person.

For anyone deciding whether to attend, the essentials are the genre and the setting: an evening of blues, country and folk performed live in Brooklyn by Alison Stiel.
