Anthony Calla

A concert by Anthony Calla, an act working in blues, country and folk, staged at Off The Rails Boston in Boston.

Anthony Calla performs in the blues, country and folk tradition, three American roots styles that share an emphasis on storytelling and on the song as the center of a performance. Blues grew out of African American work songs and field hollers in the Mississippi Delta, while country and folk draw on Appalachian ballads, string band music and older British and Irish song traditions. The styles also overlap, with many country and folk songs borrowing blues phrasing.

This concert is presented at Off The Rails Boston, a venue that hosts concerts and shows in Boston. It suits listeners who follow roots music, whether they know these traditions well or are only beginning to explore them.
