Chad Frick is a pop, rock and indie act, and this concert brings the project to the Howard Theatre in Washington. Pop, rock and indie share an emphasis on song-based writing: pop favors melodic hooks, rock adds band instrumentation and guitar-driven arrangements, and indie refers to the independent-label tradition that grew alongside them.

The Howard Theatre is a historic venue on U Street Northwest, a corridor long central to Washington's cultural life. It hosts concerts and shows throughout the year, so the evening suits listeners who follow pop, rock and indie and want to hear this material performed in a Washington theater with a long history of live performance.
