Clay Street Unit, Maxwell Oaks

Clay Street Unit and Maxwell Oaks bring blues, country and folk to Brick and Mortar Music Hall in San Francisco, with both acts on the same concert bill.

The music of this concert draws on blues, country and folk, three styles with shared roots in the American South. Blues grew out of African American communities in the Mississippi Delta and surrounding Southern states in the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. Country drew on Appalachian and Southern string-band traditions, and folk carried ballads and rural songs across generations. Clay Street Unit and Maxwell Oaks are both on the bill, so the evening places two acts working within these traditions side by side.

Brick and Mortar Music Hall hosts concerts and shows in San Francisco, which makes it a fitting place for a live evening of roots-based music. The night suits listeners who follow blues, country or folk and want to hear more than one act from these traditions in a single outing.
