Dia de los DEFTONES

A multi-act concert at Petco Park in San Diego, bringing together Deftones, The Neighbourhood, Afi, Bktherula and Jehnny Beth, with music described as R&B, soul, funk, gospel and reggae.

Deftones, formed in Sacramento in 1988, play alternative metal, with Chino Moreno on vocals; Around the Fur (1997) and White Pony (2000) are among their best-known albums. Afi, from Ukiah, California, came out of the punk and post-hardcore scene in the early 1990s, fronted by Davey Havok. The Neighbourhood, an American indie rock group, reached wide attention with "Sweater Weather" in 2013, a track that blends indie rock, R&B and West Coast melancholy, carried by the voice of Jesse Rutherford. Bktherula is an American rapper working in contemporary R&B and plugg, whose debut album, Love Santana, came out on Warner Records in 2020. Jehnny Beth is the singer of Savages, whose debut album, Silence Yourself, appeared in 2013.

The music of the night covers R&B, soul, funk, gospel and reggae, while the bill itself combines rock, metal, post-hardcore and R&B acts, so the lineup spans several distinct styles across one evening.

Petco Park, the downtown ballpark of the San Diego Padres, also hosts exhibitions and cultural events, which makes it a venue for concerts beyond baseball.
