Emancipator

Emancipator, the electronic project led by producer Doug Appling, performs in Philadelphia at The Ave Live. The concert suits listeners drawn to atmospheric, downtempo electronic music.

Emancipator is an electronic music project centered on Doug Appling, who writes and produces its recordings. The music blends downtempo beats with sampled and melodic textures, creating a mellow, cinematic sound that has made the project a fixture of the downtempo scene. Its best-known album, Soon It Will Be Cold Enough, set the template for the project's atmospheric approach, and later records have continued to build on it.

The Ave Live is a Philadelphia venue that hosts concerts and shows, and this evening's booking brings the project's electronic sound to the city. The night will appeal to fans of downtempo, ambient and instrumental electronic music, as well as listeners who follow the project's recordings and want to hear them performed live.
