George Lam

A concert in Las Vegas by Hong Kong singers George Lam and Sally Yeh, presented at Dolby Live. The music is world music, rooted in Cantonese-language song.

George Lam and Sally Yeh are both Hong Kong singers who work in Cantonese, within the tradition of Cantopop, the pop style that took shape in Hong Kong in the 1970s. George Lam has recorded for decades, with a catalog of ballads and pop songs sung in Cantonese. Sally Yeh built a following through a string of hit records in the 1980s.

Their names share this bill, so the evening brings together two long careers in Cantonese vocal music rather than a single artist's catalog. Dolby Live hosts concerts and shows in Las Vegas, and this booking places both singers on its stage on this visit to the city.

The concert suits listeners interested in Hong Kong vocal music and in the Cantonese pop repertoire that Lam and Yeh helped define in their respective decades.
