Greensky Bluegrass is an American band whose music draws on blues, country and folk. The name points to bluegrass, the acoustic style built on banjo, mandolin and fiddle, and the group's songs bring that instrumentation together with the broader roots traditions of blues and country. The band formed in Ohio, and its repertoire is rooted in the songwriting of these American folk styles rather than in a single format.

The concert takes place at The Salt Shed Indoors, referred to as Shed, a Chicago venue that hosts concerts and shows. The evening suits listeners who follow American roots music, from country and folk to blues-rooted songwriting, and who want to hear a band working in the acoustic tradition that gave the group its name.
