Hot Freaks - Soft Body Tour

Hot Freaks is an indie pop band from Minneapolis, touring as the Soft Body Tour with a stop at Songbyrd in Washington. The project's debut album, its viral single and its return to the stage are outlined below.

Hot Freaks is an indie pop band that formed in Minneapolis in the early 2010s, made up of longtime friends. Their self-titled debut LP, released in 2013, offers bright, danceable songs with a glossy disco sheen and candid, emotionally open lyrics. The band's sound has been compared to of Montreal, Voxtrot and MGMT. They played mostly across the Midwest and disbanded amicably in 2015 as members moved on to other pursuits.

Years later, the 2013 single "PUPPY PRINCESS" went viral on TikTok during the pandemic, bringing the band's humor-tinged songwriting to a new international audience. The reunion grew out of old friendships rekindled by that attention, and the group is now back on stage with rare material and new visuals.

The Soft Body Tour brings the band to Songbyrd, a Washington venue that hosts concerts and shows. The night suits listeners who know the 2013 record or the viral single, as well as newcomers curious about the group's indie pop.
