House Music Thursday - Black Lagoon Edition

An electronic night devoted to house music, presented as the Black Lagoon Edition of the House Music Thursday series at The Sea Star in San Francisco.

House Music Thursday is an electronic event built around house music, a dance genre that took shape in Chicago and New York clubs in the late 1970s and early 1980s. Chicago house drew on disco, soul, and the early synthesizer and drum-machine sounds of its time, and it rests on a steady, repeated beat designed for dancing. This edition carries the Black Lagoon Edition title, which marks it as a themed version of the series.

The Sea Star hosts concerts and shows in San Francisco, and this event is listed there under the electronic genre. The night suits listeners who follow house music and the wider electronic scene, and those who want a dance-oriented evening built on the genre's rhythm and groove.

House as a style spread from its Chicago and New York origins to clubs in Europe and beyond, and its DJ-led club culture remains central to how the music is heard. Anyone interested in the genre's roots will find this a direct way to hear the music in a live setting in San Francisco.
