Overview
An electronic music night at the Makeout Room in San Francisco, featuring the act House/Not House, with a note on the dance genre its title refers to and on the venue hosting it.
House/Not House is an electronic music act booked at the Makeout Room, a San Francisco venue that hosts concerts and shows, which places the evening among the city's live music options.
The title refers to house music, a dance genre that developed in Chicago in the early 1980s out of club DJ culture. Club-oriented electronic music typically centers on a steady four-on-the-floor beat, the rhythmic pattern that anchors house, and relies on synthesizers, drum machines and samplers.
The night suits listeners who follow electronic music and want to hear the genre performed live in San Francisco, at the Makeout Room.
