Josie Edwards at Songbyrd

Josie Edwards is a rising folk-pop singer-songwriter based in Nashville, TN, whose sharp storytelling and unmistakable voice have earned her more than 100 million streams and a fast-growing audience online.

Raised in northern Indiana, she formed her first band in high school before moving to Nashville to study at Belmont University, where she earned a degree in songwriting. Her breakout single “good girls” introduced millions of listeners to the personal, slightly offbeat world behind her music.

She carried that momentum through “The Poet and Her Vice (Happy Ending),” “Dog Prophecies,” and “Gravedigger,” into her 2026 EP Greetings From Bleak St. Its standout track, “Chemical Light,” has sparked another wave of attention online and pushed her audience higher still.

Drawing on artists like Tom Odell, Twenty One Pilots, Noah Kahan, The Lumineers, and Bob Dylan, Josie pairs dark humor with folk-pop melodies that stick. It’s an identity entirely her own — and one of the most distinct arriving in the genre right now.
