Kansas

Kansas is an American rock band from Topeka, Kansas, performing in Orlando at Hard Rock Live Orlando, a venue that hosts concerts and shows. The band's 1970s albums are the core of its catalog.

Kansas formed in Topeka in the early 1970s and released its self-titled debut album in 1974. Its two best-known songs, "Carry On Wayward Son" from the 1976 album Leftoverture and "Dust in the Wind" from Point of Know Return (1977), were both written by guitarist Kerry Livgren. Steve Walsh, who sings and plays keyboards, is the band's lead vocalist, and Robbie Steinhardt's violin is one of the most distinctive elements of its sound.

The band's records from the 1970s blend hard rock guitar with keyboard and violin arrangements, and the sound draws on progressive rock. Listeners who know those albums will recognize the material that has defined the group's catalog since then.

This concert at Hard Rock Live Orlando is a rock show by a band with a catalog that spans several decades. It suits anyone interested in the Kansas songs that became radio staples, as well as listeners who want to hear the group's album-era arrangements performed live on this visit to Orlando.
