Layne Staley Tribute East 2026

A tribute concert in Somerville honoring Layne Staley, the lead vocalist of the Seattle rock band Alice in Chains. The show features a tribute act, not the original artist.

Layne Staley was the lead vocalist of Alice in Chains, the Seattle rock band that Staley co-founded in 1987 with guitarist Jerry Cantrell. The band's albums Facelift (1990) and Dirt (1992) are central to the grunge sound of the early 1990s, and songs such as "Man in the Box" and "Would?" remain among its best-known recordings. Layne Staley died in 2002.

This concert is a tribute to Layne Staley, presented by a tribute act. It is not a performance by the original artist or by Alice in Chains. The evening takes place at the Crystal Ballroom at Somerville Theatre, a venue that hosts concerts and shows in Somerville.

The night is aimed at fans of Alice in Chains and of the Seattle rock of the early 1990s.
