Lent / Widemouth / Holy Joke

A Chicago concert bill pairing Lent, Widemouth and Holy Joke at the Cubby Bear, a venue that hosts concerts and shows in the city.

Lent, Widemouth and Holy Joke share this bill in Chicago, with the three acts placed within the blues, country and folk genre. Each style has a distinct lineage. Blues grew out of African American musical traditions in the Deep South and is often built on twelve-bar harmonic patterns. Country draws on storytelling and string-based arrangements, while folk centers on songs passed down through oral tradition and acoustic performance.

The Cubby Bear hosts concerts and shows in Chicago, and this evening suits anyone who follows roots music and wants to hear several of its styles in one night. The three acts appear together on one stage, so the bill offers a comparison across the blues, country and folk traditions rather than a single style.
